The latest rendition of the Equinox is a no-fuss no-muss crossover that offers one of the best price Vs value ratios in a segment that’s known for overindulging its customers. Simply put, the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox comes at a ridiculously low price with features that you’d expect from premium sedans.

The exterior design isn’t flashy. It’s simple and elegant, unpolarized and modern. Where the 2021 Equinox really shines is on the inside, but before we talk about its interior, let’s take a look at engine choices.

First is the standard 1.5-liter turbo-4 engine that puts out a respectable 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a responsive 6-speed automatic, it makes for good but not great driving. The available upgrade, however, offers more than enough oomph to make the Equinox seem like it’s flying both inside the city and on the highway. It takes the shape of a 2.0-liter turbo-4 that produces 252 horsepower, a whopping 82 horsepower more than the standard engine, and 260 pound-feet of torque. The bigger engine also comes with a 9-speed automatic instead of the standard 6-speed.

Inside the Equinox there’s room for up to five passengers plus an impressive 63.9 cubic feet of maximum cargo space, quite a bit more over the segment’s average.

With that, you get a sense of Equinox’s interior look and feel – a car designed to overdeliver and offer its passengers more comfort than they knew was possible at the price level.

The Equinox L, which is the model’s base trim, also comes with tons of features, such as the StabiliTrak stability control system, 17-inch aluminum wheels, automatic on/off headlamps, heated power outside mirrors, the IntelliBeam headlamps, a 3.5-in. driver information center, 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot capability, Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 system complete with a 7-inch color touchscreen plus both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth audio and video streaming, plus the SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

More importantly, for a car priced below $24,000, the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox comes with lots of standard safety features, some of them active safety features, nonetheless.

Future Equinox L owners can expect perks such as:

Following distance indicator

Forward collision alert

Front pedestrian braking

Lane keep assist with lane departure warning

OnStar® and Chevrolet Connected Services

Rear vision camera
