If you’ve been car shopping these past few months, you must have realized by now that these are not normal times we’re living in. The pandemic brought with it numerous shortages in the supply chain, but none is more severe than the global shortage of semiconductor microchips. Here at …, we’ve seen the effects of that early on as customers were made to wait for months to take delivery of their brand-new Chevys.

Anticipating what’s to come – all-around low stock at every dealership and increasing manufacturing time periods – we’ve been proactive in offering our customers a helping hand in two ways. The first one was to order Chevrolet cars in bulk a few months back. That way we managed to build up our stock of on-location vehicles so all prospective buyers that cross our doors have a good selection to choose from.

The second way we fought back against the current global car shortage was to invest heavily into building up our Chevrolet Certified Pre-Owned stock of vehicles. Becoming a local hub for CPOs means that new certified pre-owned vehicles are always added to our stock to make for a dynamic offering.

But why choose a Chevrolet Certified Pre-Owned car and not just a regular previously owned one instead? There are scores of reasons why but let’s focus on the main three ones.

  1. Carefully selected, inspected, and reconditioned before being placed on sale

To earn the Chevrolet CPO badge of honor every car must first meet a set of strict requirements, which are:

  • Have a maximum age of 6 model years or less
  • Be within a maximum of 75,000 vehicle miles
  • Have a clean title
  • Pass a Vehicle History Report

On top of that, at Karl Chevrolet, we have our own strict system of determining if a vehicle will go through the CPO process or not. In a lot of cases, we turn vehicles away that your typical dealer would certify. Why? Because we have a very high standard not unlike our customers so if for any reason we feel we wouldn’t sell the vehicle to a family member, it doesn’t get the CPO treatment.

Following those criteria, the car goes through a 172-point inspection to earn a dealer certification, also a required step towards the coveted Chevy CPO. That means that you can have confidence in your purchase since they’re relatively new, have low miles, and go through a thorough inspection and repairing process.

  1. Exceptional warranties

First, you get a one-year/12,000 miles (whichever comes first) bumper-to-bumper limited warranty that can continue to a 6-Year/100,000-Mile limited with a $0 deductible.

Even more impressive is the 6-Year/100,000 miles (whichever comes first) Powertrain Limited Warranty, also with a $0 deductible.

Between the selection plus inspection process and the warranties, future CPO owners can rest assured and expect their vehicles to run for years to come without a hitch.

  1. Complimentary scheduled maintenance

Every Chevrolet CPO comes with the CPO Scheduled Maintenance Program that includes two maintenance visits, or enough to last you for either two years or 24,000 miles.

Frankly, we’re not sure when new vehicle production will ramp back up, or when the semiconductor issue will be alleviated. So while finding that perfect brand new Chevrolet truck or SUV may be harder than it should be, Karl Chevrolet has a fantastic selection of certified pre owned vehicles from Chevrolet and other GM brands for your shopping options.
