There’s something about a beautiful fall morning that just gets you up and moving early. October 9th was one of those absolutely perfect days, when Indian summer arrived in New Canaan. What a better way to start the day than a cup of coffee from Zumbach’s and a stroll through the over two hundred cars gathered for that morning’s Caffeine & Carburetors Event.
Just exactly what is Caffeine & Carburetors you ask? Well, at its simplest terms, it is the fundamental combination of two of our favorites: coffee and cars.
From their website: “Caffeine & Carburetors is a gathering of automotive enthusiasts. We meet at Zumbach’s Gourmet Coffee in New Canaan, CT 6 times year to enjoy our cars, trucks and motorcycles, and share them with like-minded gear heads, friends and family in and around Connecticut and New York.
We have a tendency to lean toward sports cars, with the occasional Model A or 1920′s Rolls Royce, but our emphasis is on foreign sports cars. We enjoy all vehicles and there are no sponsorships or awards associated with our gatherings.
Doug Zumbach began hosting these gatherings in 1995. Each gathering falls on a Sundays and begins at 8 am. We gather over a cup of coffee, and then enjoy a leisurely drive through the countryside.
Caffeine and Carburetors is a way to indulge the gear head in all of us.

So who attends a Caffeine & Carburetors event? Well, just about anyone! If you have a classic car, sports car, exotic car, or any motorized vehicle that is near and dear to you; feel free to shine it up and drive it over to show off. If you just like cars, love coffee, and like to mingle with other like-minded individuals, young or old, come check it out. There is no admission – this is simply an event that has grown over the years based on a boundless enthusiasm for Caffeine & Carburetors!
