Talk about a successful fundraiser!  The first 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible offered to the public was sold on January 21, 2012 at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale collector car auction for $600,000 with an additional $100,000 donation. All $700,000 of the proceeds go to the AARP Foundation’s Drive to End Hunger initiative.

Autoblog.com just did a hands on review of the new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and it looks like we have a new king of the "pony car" wars. While the Ford Mustang GT500 out guns the ZL1 with a few more horsepower, the Camaro has both 4-wheel independant suspension and magnetorheological shocks from the Caddy CTS-V and the mighty Corvette ZR-1. Not to mention the new Camaro ZL-1 also sports "launch mode" and computer controlled "flat-foot shifting". These features conspire to achieve very repeatable 12 second quarter mile runs. That's quick, and with the refined chassis I bet the ZL1 will eat up the back roads around here. More below...
