Looking for something fun to do this weekend?  Make plans to attend the Rotary Club of New Canaan's 27th Annual Family Lobsterfest in New Canaan held on the grounds of the New Canaan Historical Society at 13 Oenoke Ridge Road.  Tickets are just $30 per person, including a complete lobster dinner, and are available at Karl Chevrolet or at the door.  Grilled Chicken or hot dog dinners are available for those who prefer.  All proceeds benefit area charities.

In honor of National Child Safety Week, we wanted to share the following post from Kate Carr, President and CEO of Safe Kids Worldwide.

Thirty-two years ago, my first daughter, Jennifer, was born. When it was time to leave the hospital, she was placed lovingly in the back seat of our car, resting comfortably in a very nice but hardly secure Moses basket.

That's right. Just a basket resting on the back seat.

I didn't put Jenny in a Moses basket because I didn't have the resources for a car seat. Like every new parent, I would have done anything to protect my baby. I just didn't know any better.
