Chevy VOLT turns heads at the Famous Woodward Cruise

NEW CANAAN, CT - Saturday, August 21, 2010

At this year's Woodward Dream Cruise, amoung thousands of classic cars from the past was one on the most anticipated cars from the future.... the upcoming 2011 Chevy VOLT turned heads and electrified the crowd as people went from asking "What kind of car is that?" to saying "WOW!  That's the new Chevy VOLT!  I've been waiting to see one in person!"  Check out this video courtesy of WABC TV Affiliate WXYZ from Detroit, MI:

As customers learn about the VOLT's incredible capabilities, one by one they step back in awe.  Capable of driving up to 40 miles per day on a single electric charge, without using any gasoline, consumers quickly realize that many could drive a VOLT every day to work and never stop for gas!  Imagine!  But unlike other pure electric vehicles, the Chevy VOLT has a unique feature - an onboard range-extending generator, capable of movoing the VOLT another 300+ miles before the driver would need to stop and refuel the generator's 7 to 9 gallon tank (exact size is still unkown).

According to a recent Motor Trend Magazine editorial, the Chevy VOLT is "a car that may be more significant than anything Tesla is ever likely to build. The Chevy Volt is a thoughtful, innovative, technically advanced vehicle; the prototypes we’ve driven confirm it cleverly combines the best attributes of an electric motor and the gasoline internal-combustion engine."

KARL Chevrolet expects to see our first new VOLT in New Canaan sometime around mid-November 2010.  Click here to view past posts related to VOLT and other Green technologies.
