Chevrolet Trax; American competition to Smart and Mini?

Chevrolet TraxThe Chevrolet Trax, Chevrolet Groove, and Chevrolet Beat are rumored to be the three "minicars" to be shown at the New York International AutoShow. Word has it GM will show these three concepts, then ask the public to vote on a website, with the winner being produced as the next "world car" from GM. Check out the press release below for more details. However, this makes me wonder, is New York really the place to ask the public about a minicar? Do New Yorker's care? Do you think a car smaller than a Mini or Smartcar makes sense in this market? Leave me a comment and tell us what you think.
