Announcing the Second Annual "Friends Open" Tennis Tournament

The Second Annual "FRIENDS OPEN" Tennis Tournament
Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010

KARL Chevrolet is proud to be a local sponsor of this Second Annual Friends Tennis Tournament being held as a fundraiser to help rennovate and restore the public tennis courts at Mead Park in New Canaan.

Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles A & B Divisions, and will be played at Mead Memorial Park, The New Canaan Field Club, The Country Club of New Canaan, and Woodway Country Club, Darien. 
Each event:  $100.00 per team.  First round consolation; two match guarantee (non-residents welcome)

Refreshments and live music will follow the final matches in Mead Park on Saturday.   (Non-players welcome:  $20.00)

*  FRIENDS OF MEAD PARK TENNIS was organized in 2009 to raise funds to replace the 59-year-old fencing around the courts, repair and resurface the practice court, resurface the all weather court, replace net poles and nets and make other renovations to the tennis facility at Mead Memorial Park, New Canaan.  We work hand-in-hand with the Town of New Canaan in our efforts.

Each player will receive:  On this Day in Tennis History, by Randy Walker, New Chapter Press; sunscreen; Gatorade; post-tournament party (refreshments and music) in Mead Park.
