New Canaan, CT  -  Wednesday, 8/31/2011 - 6:41pm UPDATE:

Power has been restored to our dealership at 261 Elm Street in New Canaan.  We are extremely grateful to the crews who have been working long hours in the wake of Hurricane Irene to get things back to normal, and we now know how much we take our electricity for granted!  While our power has been restored, we are aware that much of New Canaan and the surrounding area remains without power.  If you are still affected tomorrow, our showroom will be open with free Wi-Fi and cool air conditioning - along with coffee and cold water - so if you are looking for a fresh place to hang out, come stop by!

Wednesday, 8/31/11 9:00am Update: we are still without power at our dealership. We have just hooked up a generator to power our phones and our staff is here to assist any way possible. According to CL&P, as of this morning 6,353 out of 8,373 New Canaan homes are without power. That is still 75% of the town. There are many crews out working - priorities remain getting roads open and safe, getting power to the schools, power to downtown commercial businesses and homes. This post Irene clean-up is massive in scope and we all need to have patience.

New Canaan, CT - Tuesday 8/30 9:00am update: Still no power on the west side of downtown New Canaan. We have a small staff here if you have an emergency. We currently have no power, phones, or email so we apologize if you've been trying to reach us. We are able to monitor our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/karlchevy) or send a message to @karlchevy on Twitter. Thank you for your patience as we all work through the aftermath of Irene.
