General Motors is set to debut the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco at the New York auto show this week. The Cruze is the latest GM model to come to market with high expectations - and if its launch is anything like the Chevy Malibu, Traverse and Equinox, then GM will have another success on its hands. Over the past several years, GM has let its new products do all the talking - and the automotive press has been chiming in with praise.

The all-new Chevy Cruze has been on sale in Europe and Austrailia for several months with great results. The US version is scheduled to enter production in the late summer and be ready for retail sale this fall. The Cruze will be built in Lordstown, Ohio and GM plans to run three shifts which will save thousands of US jobs - another big plus for GM.

General Motors and its strategic partner, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. Group (SAIC), have unveiled a new concept they call the EN-V. The letters are an acronym for Electric Networked Vehicle. If nothing else, this design concept is certainly thought provoking.... what would our streets look like with these little beauties tooling around? Below is the official press release:

GM Tops Family Cars List

While families all around Fairfield and Westchester Counties have known it along, now the officials at Kelley Blue Book, one of the nation's best known independant automotive experts, agree!  The Chevrolet Suburban, Equinox and Traverse all made the Top 10 Family Cars for 2010 list from the editors of the Kelley Blue Book.

"Here's great news for the U.S. automakers GM and Ford: Six of their vehicles dominated the list of the Top 10 Family Cars for 2010 as determined by the editors of the Kelley Blue Book and the Web site kbb.com," reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

Three of them are Chevrolets — an SUV and two crossover utility vehicles — and three are Fords — one crossover and two sedans, including a gasoline-electric hybrid.
