November 16th-December 22nd Karl Chevrolet Hummer New Canaan

Karl Chevrolet Hummer once again will be a sponsor for Toys for Tots with the U.S. Marines collecting toys for children ages 6 months to 13 yrs old. It’s hard to think of a child waking up Christmas morning with no presents even one or two can bring such a happy smile to a child’s face.. There are concerns about the economy this year, but we hope that people will look beyond it an pull through for the children as they have in the past.. Karl Chevrolet Hummer has been doing this for over a quarter of a century and will continue to be there for the children.

By LINDSAY BROOKE Milford, Mich. SITTING behind the wheel of a 2011 Chevrolet Volt prototype on Wednesday, I found myself confronting what may be the greatest fear that future owners of electric vehicles will face: a battery-charge indicator showing just a few miles of remaining range. If I were out on a desolate Interstate in a vehicle powered solely by batteries, I’d be praying to the god of electrons for a place to pull off and plug in a charging cord. But my drive is at General Motors’ proving grounds here, and I’m about to experience what the Volt’s vehicle line director (and my passenger), Tony Posawatz, says is the car’s trump card: a gasoline-powered generator under the hood.

Like other reporters, I had already driven Volt prototypes in the battery-powered mode, and they were predictably smooth and silent. But for eventual Volt owners, a crucial — and so far unanswered — question is how the car will perform when the battery’s charge is depleted and all electricity is provided by an onboard generator,

Here is a good take on the NY Times Magazine story, and surprisingly, it is coming from Slate Magazine...who is traditionally anti-HUMMER. No Goodwill for Hummers By Matthew DeBord Posted Friday, November 6, 2009 - 6:52pm Over at the New York Times Magazine, "Consumed" columnist Rob Walker has seen a Hummer- the large and often derided, military-derived General Motors SUV that will soon be sold as a brand to the Chinese-in the parking lot of a Goodwill and "smirked." The implication is that the Hummer owner painted himself (and it's probably a him) into a financial corner through his purchase of a pricey, gas-chuggin' monstrosity and must now wear clothes and shoes that other people have worn before him. Or maybe he was just looking for a set of old golf clubs or hoping to pick up a dozen wine glasses for $6. Point is: You own a Hummer now, you're on the road to ruin.
